Mobile Jackal's Tattoo

I’m Jordan Jackal, a tattoo artist based in Austin, Texas. I started tattooing in 2005 in Bowling Green, Ohio, when I was 18, and I’ve been at it ever since. Over the years, my work has taken me all over — from Boulder’s famous Pearl Street to Durham, North Carolina, and Fulton, Kentucky — before I found my home in Austin in 2010.

I’ve been an artist my whole life, and tattooing has always been my way of telling stories through skin and ink. I’ve managed shops, mentored artists, and spent years helping build creative spaces around the communities I’ve worked in. Most recently, I co-founded Noble Jackals Tattoo in South Austin before launching my own independent studio.

Today I work out of Mobile Jackals Tattoo, a custom-built vintage RV studio parked outside Lost Well on Airport Boulevard in Austin. The space reflects everything I love about this city — creative, a little weird, and completely unique. It’s a private, comfortable environment designed for custom tattooing while keeping the character and charm of a classic 1970s motorhome.

My clients have included people from all walks of life — from everyday folks to well-known names like Thom Sonny Green of Alt-J, actor Chris Zylka, and Super Bowl champion Marcus Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles. My artwork also extends beyond tattooing; I’ve painted murals around Austin, including work on South Lamar, and created custom designs for food trucks, bars, and small businesses throughout the city.

I’m versatile in all styles and genuinely enjoy tattooing just about anything. Whether it’s black and gray, bold color work, fine-line detail, or something completely out of the box, I’m always excited by a new challenge. My goal is to create tattoos that feel personal, lasting, and true to the person wearing them.
